Hi Guys,

Can this be done, it would be great to be alerted when a type of email arrives in my outlook? and then sends me a text message to tell me its arrived, maybe even the subject header

What do you think?

It's not possible in Outlook

AOL offer a service that does exactly what you're after, but you do have to pay a little extra for it and it only works with your AOL email addresses. AOL uses IMAP email, so I don't know if any other ISPs offer it too for POP email

I think it is possible in outlook.

Outlook has rules you can setup for messages arriving and outlook 2003 has the following, for example

using rules you don't have to send the full email, you can set it up to send a message you create so it will be short

all you then have to do is find a service that will convert the email that outlook will send using this into a text message. I did a quick google and found 24x, for example

while googling I also found things like outlook sender

check these out and see if they suit your needs

Nice find! Is that only for Outlook 2003, I wonder? I'm running Outlook XP and can't find it!

Unless it's down to one of the many varients such as basic, pro etc
