I have been seaching around for quite sometime now for a solution to my problem both 'Esato' and other Internet searches...
The problem is based on the PC Suite / DockStation of P910i which had been install in my WindowXP[SP2]
- All installation when out fine =) I was able to connect / browse Internal Memory & Memory Stick / even able to sync with MS Outlook 2003 !!!
- But somehow if I leave the connection alive for sometime / or continuously transfer a load of song to my phone... The phone will be disconnected from the PCsuite... But strangly the icon [Black Arrow] on the SysTray will show that the connections is connected but there are no visible phone icon [P910 Icon]... This also happen if I remove the phone and reconnect it to the docking stations, it will too NOT show the phone icon. Which I cannot access the Memory or Sync.
- I have seach some website for people whom seem to have same problem as I do. It seem that there are tonss.. I had try to set the Baud rate to 9600 rather than 115200 for both the PC & Phone... Even try to disable / exit the ZoneAlarm Sercurity Suite... But non of this works for me... [Ref WebSite]
http://www.allaboutsymbian.com/forum/showthread.php?t=27377
- For a simple solution which I had found out was to 'Restart' the WindowXP and then all will be working again... only for about 1-2 Sync with [NO Disconnnection/ReConnection] of the Phone to the Docking Station.
- By which was fine for me as I only Sync for once a day. But then the real problem was that I'm unable to 'BackUp' my phone at all !!! =S as during the backup process the PC Suit Backup program will tell the P910i to Restart ... of which also mean that it will be temperary disconnect to the DockStation... of which means I will lost the connection and have to restart my window!... of which simple means that the phone cannot be BackUp...
Will anyone be so kind enough to help me out. I'm really squared.
I had call SE CustCare and told them all abt the problems. They then suggest me to bring in the phone this coming Wednesday for a check up. Over the phone I had ask them of my CDA Version of the Phone / Organiser / Bluetooth etc... It seems that all of what i have seem to be the lastest version...
What could I have miss out? How can it be the 'ZoneAlarm' program? as my sync with outlook2003 was working even 'ZoneAlarm' was switched ON.... But only when i either was trf large file / disconnect-reconnect the Phone to the DockStation ... then it will stop working...
Should I uninstall - reinstall ... all my PC Suite / Dockstation? But what's the use? as i remember I used all Setup files from the internet not from the CD which came in the package... so from internet = SE website = Lastest Version !!!...
Please help...

honestly, the pcsuite connection can be very dodgy. There is all sorts of advice on it that has already been posted on here. you're best off sifting through that lot, and seeing if any of it helps.

it seems the advice usually boils down to reloading pcsuite and the dss drivers with lots of reboots everytime something is added or removed. it'll probably work for a couple of weeks after that!
make sure you have the latest driver and suite from the se website.....

The only other possibility I can think of is that Windows power saving is shutting down your USB connection after a predetermined time. Click 'Start', right-click on 'My Computer' and select 'properties'.
Now click the 'hardware' tab at the top and then click the 'Device Manager' button. Scroll down to the bottom and click the little plus (+) sign next to 'Universal serial bus controllers'.
Then, you need to right click on the first entry for 'USB root hub' and select 'properties'. Click the 'Power management' tab at the top and un-tick the little box next to 'Let the computer turn this device off to save power'. Click 'OK', and repeat for all of the remaining root hubs in device manager.
To be honest, I don't think it'll solve the problem but it's certainly worth a try, you never know

Besides, it's a good idea to turn off the power saving options for USB anyway as certain other hardware devices can have problems if it's turned on (USB modems especially)!
I really think that the fault is caused by the SE software and as such, there's not a lot that you can do about it
