Nokia 6803: 1.3 megapixel camera with flash, SD slot, MP3 player, QVGA touchscreen, and weighs-in at 5.3 ounces, and at 4.6 x 2 x 0.7-inches.

P990: 4.4 x 2.2 x 1 inches at 5.46 ounces


Some quick observations:

1. Keypad is sexier than qwerty keyboard.
2. Another reason to skip P990
3. thinner is better (lighter helps too)

now one of the biggest problems of the uiq platform will be solved, thanks to nokia of all people, watch developers flock to develop more uiq apps now that nokia have a uiq phone yay, and anyone who thinks this looks better than p990 needs to have their eyes checked its ugly, with all due respect to the good taste impaired

Don't like that thing sticking out the front of the screen -- makes it look like a Dalek

But seriously -- for some of us, *no* QWERTY is not very sexy at all.

The weight difference will be imperceptible in practice.

So the Nokia's camera has a flash, yet has only 1.3 mps vs the P990's 2.0 mps.

I see no reason to skip the P990 at all. Sorry.

Why would Nokia be using Quartz ( QUI ) ?!

All current Nokia Symbian software for Series 60 will be incompatible with this device.

Series 60, 80, 90 etc.. now UIQ based phone....

Symbian UI flavours should come back together and be compatible with each other. The fragmentation of Symbian has gone on too long.

I'm very curious for the reasons why Nokia have opted for Quartz on this phone and not just gone with a Series 60 device.

I guess the best thing from nokia 6803 is that there is another smartphone with Symbian 9.1 + UIQ 3 and touchscreen.

SE P990 disappoints many people and it would be nice to have more competition in the Symbian touchscreen smartphone market to push SE.
