Hey everybody! I've searched through the forum, and can't seem to make sense of this. I'm trying to retrieve my e-mails to my P910i. I use cingular pre-paid. Does anybody have any suggestions on how I can do this? I've got profimail and g-mail. It won't get passed initializing. Does anybody know of any e-mail servers that will allow me to connect with my p910? There's got to be a way, but I'm just not finding it.

Hi,
I'm afraid I'm not too knowledgable on this but I do know that any pop3 mail account can be set up to automatically pick up your mail straight to your p.
All I had to do was call my network provider for the settings required.

Gmail allow you to download mails at phone or pc but you should first ENABLE pop3 access from your Gmail account settings. For that OPEN YOUR GMAIL ACCOUNT AT PC AFTER SIGN IN CLICK ON SETTING AT TOP RIGHT CORNER OF SCREEN THEN CLICK ON pop and forwarding setting THEN check the box ENABLE POP3. Thats all then enter following settings in your phone
Inc.mail server: pop.gmail.com
Out. Mail server: smtp.gmail.com
Encryption: enable TSL/SSL
Mailbox: your user name
Passwo: your password
E-mail : ur mail

Can you add this gmail as an ADDITIONAL email setting and does it download automatically to your device? also if this is the cas ethen i presume you can add as many email accounts as you like? what about aol too?.
I currently have orange email which sends text alerts tothe phone and then i can download if i want.......it doesnt automatically send the emails to the phone

Just downloaded Profimail v2.31. It works perfectly fine. Able to download emails from gmail accounts as well as send them. Highly recommended to those who seem to be having problems getting emails from gmail

I'm on Orange too, I have my mail account set up to collect my mail at set times in the day, but this may not be often enough for you, I think you can set four pick-up times. Do Orange charge you for the texts?

no orange dont charge...........so I would rather do it the way I am doing it now which is just check the text to see rather than just schedule...........i know it seems odd.........but i want either directly downloaded whenever they come in or i download when i want but not schedule...........just me i suppose.
However firstly I have aol and wonder if i can add their details if anyone knows and secondly I have just bought another phone with o2 and want to set up stuff with that from the get go and wondered if anyone knew how to just have emails come in to that without HAVING to download if its even possible.........im sorry if this makes no sense to the people here but my tech knowledge on these matters is low but m awe of great devices is gape-mouthed lol

irfan, sorry can't help with the O2 issue,
But did you know that along with the scheduled pick-ups on your Pxxx, you can simply select 'get and send' whenever and however often you like.
Don't know about the aol issue either, sorry, but i'm sure someone here can help.

yes I know thats the way I do it.........i think im looking for the phones to do something which prob isnt possible ........is like act like a pc and just show emails as they come and one click to open if i have a live internet connection of course.........maybe the way these guys are saying gmail and profimail will work i will try that

aol uses imap. i'm not sure if profimail can handle them, but if not, why not get a free e-mail from gmail or yahoo, and forward all mails to there? then you can use your P to pick up the pop3 mail from tose servers.
