Bookmark topic
I've just bought a 128mb memory stick duo for my s700i.
When i put it into my s700i its says "memory stick error" when trying to take a picture?
Does any one have any advice or had this problem?

First thing I would do is format it from the phone. Have you tried that?

I have a S700i and can't format the memory card on the phone.
I have formated through the card reader on my laptop but i still am getting the same error?
Card works 100% in the laptop.

I'm sorry about that. I assumed the s700i is able to format memory sticks. Have you tried this

I tried formatting with the sony software but it has made no difference and the same error is showing?
Does anyone know exactly what "memory stick error" means?
The cards works fine, but just not in my s700i?
Thanks

Just looked around on google. It appears that you're not the only one with this problem and that the problem is caused by s700i not supporting MS pro duo, only MS duo up to 128 megabytes. So if you have a pro duo you're out out of luck.

I know s700i dosen't support Pro Duo. I have both types of memory stick, Pro duo and Duo but none of them are working.
Thanks

Hi DCM,
Am not so sure if updating or changing firmware will help.
If you are formatting using the Computer (which should be a measure of last resort) make sureyou first do it under FAT16.
Does the card (MSH- M128 ?) work in other phones ?
Or if the sound recorder can save files to External Memory ?
If the card gets detected & be formatted on another

phone...
Infact the 128 MSD (Sony) that I have works fine in my S700 but gives a "Card Corrupt" error in the P910 !
