...and here is an extract from the P910 white paper which I have posted a few times now confirming that

Considering the P910 supports 2GB, as has been proven by other members who have one - i dissagree with the white paper.

the white paper only mentions 1gb since that was all available at the time of the last version of the white paper.

As with new phones, SE never describe compatibility with un-announced products

That does not change the fact that the P910 only supports FAT16 with its inherant limit of 2gb

It does say "can currently only support FAT 16" maybe there will be somekind of firmware update to FAT 32??? who knows.

@Jon- okay, ignore the whitepaper if you want. But when I took the MSX-M1GN I checked up :se: sites and memory stick sites. Yes the available highest capacity chip that was compatible was 2GB. But then as Masseur says, claiming compatibily with a unrealsed, in-the-labs product is risky. Or one just doesn't know it in time, THAT whitepaper is quiet dated. . . I wouldn't put a higher capacity MSDP High Speed even if it were to be. Unjust to the resources of that ARM in the 910.. This message was posted from a S700

yeah, I agree, that statement does leave the options open and presumably they would not add FAT32 compatibility to firmware until it was needed, ie when 4gb is actually available, but history shows that SE rarely do what we expect they might and with the P990 announcement (which does support FAT32) why would they?

time will tell but I won't hold my breath

True. Radical changes off the SEUS would be a surprize. There has been this other thread here about people formatting (thru Computer) their 512 Sandisks to FAT32 etc. But FAT16 is faster for read write speeds and anyway.. there is no limit to ones wants. Tommorow we may want a 16GB chip and the 7MP resolution to be standard in cams (and 60fps video) on devices. Its a good think to expect change though. Hope we aren't talking TOO off topic here..
