Hi there
Does a 1 Gb Memory Stick Duo pro drain the battery faster than the included 64 MB card?
If yes, does anybody has experiences with how much faster the battery will be drained? Does it depend on how much you use the card in the phone (eg. listen to music) or what?
It would be nice with more memory, but if it results in drasticly shorter (say less than 48 hours standby) battery life, then I wouldn't spend money on it.

The 1gig MSPD severely drains my battery while listening to music. Battery life goes from 90% to 30% with just 2 hours of music. Is there a remedy?
I recall there was a looooong thread on this topic, but cant find it now after browsing through the archives for over an hour.

Thank you for contacting the Sony Ericsson Call Centre.
With regards to your enquiry, it is not the case that the battery life of the Sony Ericsson K750i and W800i decreases more rapidly when a higher capacity memory stick is used.

I dun really think that more battery will be drained..
The diff between a 64MB and a let say 2GB is probably only the memory capacity i guess.. afterall they're the same cards..
correct me if im wrong.. I'm still planning to buy a 2GB card though...

It DOES get drained faster with 1GB and the increase in drainage is significantly visible even to a noob after 60-90 minutes of music playback.
It's limited only to the music playback though, and not other applications like photo snapping and video recording/games.
My previous 64M (default) and 256M cards were more power fficient with music.

I bought a 2gb Sandisk for my W800 and was initially disappointed that it was draining the battery twice as fast as the supplied 512mb card. 6 hours on the 512mb card used about 40% battery, 6 hours on the 2gb used 80%!
I wrote to Sandisk and they have replaced my 2gb card and I'm very happy that the new card uses the battery at the same rate as the 512mb card!

@ IRFCA_WDG-3A - my 1GB sandisk Duo stick doesnt drain my battery any quicker than the 512mb i have, or the supplied 64mb sony memory stick.
Constant access to the memory stick does drain battery life quicker than if the files were stored on the phone, that has always been the case with any external media cards, but i havent noticed any significant drop in battery life between memory sticks.

If both of the memory sticks/64 MB and 1 GB/ have equal quality you mustnt have a problem like this
