On my phone I've got my MP3s arranged in folders, one folder for each of the CDs they were stripped from. For various reasons, I'd like to listen to the tracks in each folder in the same order they appeared on the CD.
But how can I do that in Music Player (having selected the folder for a particular album)? The only way I can think of is to prefix each track's filename with '01', '02', etc, representing their original positions on the CD, and ensure 'sort by name' is set.

I dont think taht you can, not without manually giving them number like you siggested. Maybe try another player such as PowerMP3??

What I didn't realise, given my inexperience in this matter (!), is that most ripping programs will let you set up a format for the filename such that the track number is automatically included anyway.
I found that Music Player does correctly order the tracks based on this number (and intelligently omits the track number part of the filename from the display panel).
I also found that if you happen to leave the track numbering out of the filenames, Music Player will order tracks according to burn date (unless you've got 'sort by name' set). This means that provided you ripped the files from the CD in sequential order starting at the first track, you don't really need to bother with including the track number in the filenames.

On another note -- I tried out AAC files as well as MP3s, and found that Music Player was not happy at all about scrolling through AAC filelists -- took an age. There would also be a significant pause between playing AAC tracks. Can anyone shed any light on this?
