A few days ago I updated my k750i to the latest firmware version. I’ve had this problem before, maybe once a week, but after the upgrade, it happens at least once a day. The phone simply reboots. Black and white screen blinking for a few seconds, and then the phone just goes back to normal status. I don’t even have to enter the sim lock code. It just comes back to the way it was. It also searches for a signal for a few seconds, like it always does after a normal turn off-turn on.

Although the upgrade process went very well, i can understand what you are saying. But i had this problem before the upgrade too. Anyway, if this is the only way to go, then i'll do it.

Lucky you... I cant even update my phone!
i get all the way through the process on the SE website, up untill the bit where it says disconnect your phone, turn it off and reconnect holding 'c' down.

All it does is turn my phone back on and not update it!

Any ideas???

@Targett... i had the same problem as yours before.. here's what i followed...

Quote:a) holding 'c' key didn't bring up the new hardware found box in windows. This is caused by having failed on a previous attempt to install the usb flash driver resulting in windows now recognising the hardware but without a driver installed.

SOLUTION - open windows device manager, and then press 'c' and connect the phone. A 'USB flash' device will appear briefly with a big yellow '?' against it. Before it disappears double click the device and then update the driver following the standard sony instructions (USB Update Drivers)

b) I then tried to link to the update service and just got a blank screen

SOLUTION - no java installed so get it from http://www.java.com

RESULT - it all works ok, I just wish Sony had been as knowledgeable.
