Ok, so I saw the phone that I want to buy SE W800, call my wireless provider T-mobile to find out that they don’t sell it and I can’t buy it from them. No problem, I search the internet found the best price $429.99 from Buy.com compare to SE $499 great deal. I called Buy.com they told me the phone does NOT come with 1 year manufacturer warranty?!? Hmmm, interesting. Ok, I decided I am going to buy it anyway but I want insurance. My current insurance with T-mobile (Asurion) doesn’t want to insure it. I called five other insurance companies, all of them say the same. Go figure. My question is for all of you guys that purchase this phone (or any other from third parties) if you can tell me where did you get it from and how did you insure it, IF you did. I want to insure it from loss or theft for sure because it’s too expensive. I never knew buying the phone from retailer other than wireless provider is so difficult. Thanks for your inputs.

Sounds fishy to me.
Normally theres allways a 1 year manufacture warranty when you buy a new phone, no matter which retailer you buy it from.
Getting it serviced though can offcource be a problem if there are no official servicecentres in your country, or the model isnt officially launched in your country.
Insurance for theft/loss etc. solely depends on the policies of your countrys insurance companys. Many insurance companys choose not to offer policies covering theft/loss of mobiles, because the risk is to high.
In which country are you located ? That may help others to give a better answer

You are absolutely right, it sounds fishy. I would rather pay more (better safe than sorry) but my biggest ‘problem’ is that I can’t find insurance company. That’s why I asked to see how people that bought this phone figure out all wireless provider/insurance mazes. I am located in United States, Arlington, VA.

I wish that can be a solution. Apparently it can only work with T-mobile and even if it can work with other providers I would still have the same problem. I came to realize that American mobile market sucks big time. It is not comparable with European. You have to have contract, overages are insane and you have to choose the phone they offer, not the one you want. Also they are couple of different networks here, in Europe is just one. Anyway, any reports/reviews on MobileProTech insurance?

Man, whatever you do, don't buy it without a warranty. I recently went through an experience without a warranty and it's not pleasant. It's like when they tried to fix my phone and couldn't they just told me that that's all they can do. I just spent a heap of money on my phone and now it's just a piece of junk. Not worth it man.

Of course it would work with other service providers....
the K750i is a tri-band mobile and it will work with 1900MHz range which is the US...
You have 3 massive service providers and AT&T is probably the best...
Just buy it SIM free and you can have it working with any of the service providers...
