Hi All

I have the K750i and the BMW System V bluetooth motorcycle helmet, but there appears to be a compatability problem. The K700 worked with it, but BMW say that the newer version of B/T that SE use is not compatible.

Has anyone got any ideas, as both pieces of kit are really good, I don't want to get rid of either.

I have updated the K750i firmaware today to the latest version.

Cheers

Can't you just get to ashop and try it out?
That way your doubts would disappear...

I really don't know what changed in terms of BT specs from K700 to K750. But maybe is just that K750 has some bugs that need to be sorted out...

The trouble is, both BMW and SE say their item is working fine.

The Helmet will talk to another helmet and the Phone will talk with my Ipaq.

It's just they don't want to talk ot each other.... I could understand if one of them was "out of date" but they are both new on the market bits of kit!!

does anyone know if maybe his helmet is only compatable with bluetooth 1.1? and maybe the k750 is 1.2? i honestly have NO idea, just maybe?

well, i was thinking, and weather its 1.1 or 1.2, it should work shouldnt it?

what happens when you try to pair them? anything at all?

When you pair them, the phone finds the helmet, and even says it will connect. You can even hear the phone ring when a call comes in.. but no matter th settings, the sound/mic is not transferred to the helmet and will not return to idle (ie ready mode) hen the call is ended.

FWIW I believe the helmet IS 1.1 and the K750i is 2.0. Is there a patch or something available or is it like VHS & BETAMAX (ie tough luck forever!!)

I believe K750i is BT 1.2 and not 2.0, since 2.0 supports 100m connections.
Plus, it should be retro-compatible, if things were done right.
