Hello everyone. Just got my W550, and as the first 'sane' and 'mobile related' post i have done in ages i thought i would just tell you a few things about it.
Its certainly very good. The camera is acceptable, if not better than the V800's 1.3 megapixel however defenitely not as good as K750i. It doesnt show up amazingly well in dark light.
The design is amazing. Its absolutely solid, as solid as SE can be (which normally is crap, but today im impressed). The phone is easy to use when shut or open, and i am very very pleased with it.
Screen is bright and clear and looks nicer than K750i, and the menus are basically all the same. The walkman firmware slows the phone up occasionally and the speakerphone is a bit crackly but its a hell of a good phone and i recommend it.
CPW suddenly have it advertised for 229.99 handset only, but they wouldnt sell me it because they were reserved for PAYM because its 'more important' lol (they rip people off more and get more money!).
But i went to another CPW store and they gave me it on o2 for 169.99 and i got 15% off with my connexions card. Thats like ... 140 quid!!!
So i got a great deal, it was the last in the shop and the woman said that she was sure there was a system fault, but it may actually be 169.99, even though most places have it from about 230 plus.
So get in there guys before CPw up the price like they did with the k750. And also, know someone who is 16-18 years old!
Luckily, i was able to get the phone in my name but my mate 'passed' over the money theoretically buying it so i could get a discount, but at all the other CPWs i tried they said the person buying it had to have the phone in their name, so try a few CPws if you can. We have four in newcastle, look for a new sales consultant thats a bit dopey!
Great phone, feels lush, impressive. headphones are not as good, but hey, it was only 140
