I have this strange prob with my smtp server, since a week back.
Up till a week ago everything worked fine, I could send and receive mails on my T68 and on my pc, using BT, gprs.
Now I get an error saying can't connect to server (smtp), I've tried several diff ones but no, I can still receive mails though.
The odd thing is that this is only at my home, I can send fine just a couple km from home. Everything else works at home too, wap and internet.
The signal strength isn't the best where I live, but it has been ok with all, except the smtp now.
Can the base station cause this? Are the servers functions somehow depending on the base stations signal or settings or anything?
I've contacted my network provider (Comviq, Sweden), they can't see anything wrong in their network. Can it be a fault in my phone? Too weak signal at sending?
Any suggestions?

Check with your email provider to see if they have recently put authentication on their SMTP server. Unlike most email clients (such as Outlook) the T68i Email client does NOT support SMTP authentication.
POP authentication is standard, so you can receive your emails. Some email providers use POP before SMTP authentication, but a username and password on the SMTP server is more secure (but not supported by the T68i).

Thanks for the tip, but I don't think it was the authentification of smtp that caused it. It was more a geographic matter, since it worked fine on some places and not at all on other locations.
Anyway, it sorted out by itself. Now it works fine everywhere.
