> Can 6230i play mp4 video ?

I have the sed750i and the 6230i which i use for work and have tried to play mp4 vids downloaded from here but i get format not supported displayed on the screen but i've read everywhere that it should play them it may be a software problem i dunno... any feedback would be appreciated Thanks

Yes it can, though MPEG-4 encoded video will still need to be wrapped to 3gp-file format.

It probably can, but as I said, it has to be wrapped to the 3gp file format.

I'm not familiar with the term wrapped but my original question was can the 6230i play mp4 and the answer surely has to be NO...if you have to wrap or encode to 3gp then it's no longer an mp4 file...is it not ?

3gp is just file format, nothing else. In case of video, that file format usually includes two streams, video and audio. In case of Nokia 6230(i) that video can be MPEG-4 coded.

3gp is type of compression just as mp4 is! If you convert mp4 to a 3gp it wont be the same quality video clip. That's what i think.
p.s. 3gp can't be stereo
