Just what does it save for you ?
Does the info include contacts and appointments or is it just phone settings such as ringtones etc.
What I'm trying to get to the bottom of is this.
If I perform "BackUp"
Then perform master reset.
Then do "Restore". What will I have lost ?

IMHO it's impressive what it does save.
The only things I recall not being able to retrieve were recorded voice tags and bluetooth pairings -- and IIRC any pictures saved with contacts.
In every other respect, the phone was just as it was before the master reset.

Backup and Restore is excellent IMO.
Recently had to give the phone in to repair ( kept missing calls and re-starting itself )THey sent it off but said all data would be wiped out as they will install all new software . Goo dthing I had backe dit up teh week before.
Got it back from the repair shop, and there was obviosoy loads of stuff missing eg SMS settings, email settings, internet settings, contacts all missing, calendar wiped out. Tried getting the settings back but then i couldn't connect to the internet, couldn't download my emails.
So, I tried the restore function, and it literally put all the data back onto the phone. All the settings, calendar, contacts etc. Worked like a charm, took about 15 mins to do a full restore.
Would definitely recommend all P9xx uers to do a full back up at least once amonth.
