The other day I received a text saying “I had a missed delivery please call this no.” I remember someone else received this same text on easto so just ignored it as a scam.
But today my girlfriend received a text that said
“T-mobile customer, you may now claim your FREE CAMERA PHONE upgrade for your loyalty. Call on 0207 289 9963. offer ends 3rd Nov. T&C’s apply. Opt-out available”
The strange thing is she’s on o2 not tmobile. The no. is a 0207 central London no. so would be charged at normal rate, so I gave it a ring…
Recorded voice: welcome to whisper communications you will now be forward to an adviser.
Then nothing apart from background noise kinder sounded like as if someone accidentally called from a public place (if you know what I mean).
Any idea’s what this is all about?

Did you have to press a number to forward to another number?

No it just said you will be forwarded to an adviser. I did'nt have to press anything.
I know all about that press 9 thing (i get the yank phone my work no. a least twice a week telling me about his cheap holiday deal).

Well my girfriend had but still she was using her o2 sim. Only thing i can think is that they may try and get certain details when you phone them.

Over here we get random texts prompting us to send texts to some number. Right at the end of the text the costs are briefly mentioned... And those costs are incredibly expensive. What a ripoff. Once you actually respond, you have to ultimately send yet another text to unsubscribe. Con artists are everywhere.
