I was playing around with my phone tonight, checked bluetooth setting like transfering sound to devices...and tried to transfer the sound to my computer since I don't have a BT headset yet. This might be well known for a lot of people here, but after setting up this feature and choosing my computer (equipped with D-link DBT-120) of the settings/connectivity/bluetooth/handsfree menu I was able to listen to my voicemail through my Yamaha home entertainment system which is hooked up to my computer. The cool thing is that I have quite perfect sound transfer, no distortion at all. So basically what I do whenever I make a call a click on the "more" tab, it would offer me to transfer my call, I just pick my computer that I've previously set up, it connects and I hear everything clean and clear. If it's a well known issue, then nevermind this post:-)

So, when a call comes through, you speak on the phone but listen to your yamaha? Am I right? Cool

Do you have to hold the phone close or sumthin' ? Or can you leave it on the table and use it like a speakerphone? I might give it a try.

The microphone on the phone is sensitive enough to pick up my voice from a pretty good distance, and with the phone you can bring it as far as the BT connection from your D-link reaches.

Its cool, I use this all the time now, the only problem is other people can hear your conversations.

yeah, it's called headset profile - if the dongle supports that profile, then you can transfer voice audio to and from the computer as if it were a bluetooth headset.
This doesn't work with the mediaplayer however, so music can't be transferred wirelessly via bluetooth to the computer. For that is required the stereo audio profile (the phone doesn't support that profile)

I live by myself so no one hears me....I find it useful when I call customer support or some government company that puts me on hold for an hour. It sucks thoug that I can't use it to transfer media files to my sound system.

@max_wedge- I've used it often, but sometimes there is a more than normal, time lag (I asked my bro sitting in next room to call). Using a BT 1 Dongle with Widcom drivers on Win98. Its been over an year but works fine. @george- I do it sometimes but have the humble 'Monsoon' Speakers not Yamaha. Also, somehow for me the microphone (and the phone) act up most of the time when I'm on Audio Gateway to PC

I use the BT built into my laptop to create an Audio Gateway through the built in Widoze BT thingy. Useful, as quality is much better through my JBL Creature 2's!
