Hi all, I have S710a and would like to connect to the internet from my laptop through this cell phone. I have been getting 678 error messages: The remote computer did not respond. If I used my friends cell phone T610, it could connect fine (without this error message). Anybody knows what is going on? Thank you in advance.

How are you connecting the laptop and phone. What os are you running on the laptop? Do you have web gprs active on the phone through your network operator? A few more details would help narrow down the issue and point towards a potential solution. This message was posted from a K750

I use windows xp tablet pc. I connect using GSM instead of GPRS, I have net zero account. Here is what I did:
1. pair the laptop to the phone
2. install the modem script (BT)
3. create a new connection
When dialing, it always disconects after a sec. Anyone has this problem?

I reset the cell phone setting and still not working
Please help! thank you

Good. The basic set up appears fine. I suggest you use the mobile networking module in the pc suite to get online. Select the CSD option for type of connection. The software will auto detect the rest. Cheers. This message was posted from a K750

Thanks for the info. I have selected the CSD option for the connection type. I still have the same problem, which is the remote computer did not respond. It still disconects after a sec. I have the same phone as yours k750i, did you have this problem? I tried to connect to GPRS and it connects fine. Do I have to have data plan with my provider to get this dial up to work? I wouldn't think so, but please let me know. It seems like I need to setup something on the phone, any idea?
Thank you.

Wait a minute !
@Yochan- So you trying to connect with the K7 or the S7 ?

Circuit Switch Data turns out quiet steep for me and Yes- one needs a Data Account Subscription / Profile..

As for that error-
Can you revert- if the 'establish Serial Port' over BT works?
In the dialer you have selected the modem and COM port correctly?
Usually, its 3 to 6..
I use a diff. ISP than my GSM op and can connect, but only at 9600 hence no joy. Didn't devote time either to find Solution.. But any help appreciated

I'm using s7, sorry for the confusion. I setup the modem and use port 40 (BT).

I tried using my friends cell T610. He does not subscribe data plan and it works without additional setting on his cell phone, but I couldn't make it worked on mine

I have tried to use port 6 and it didn't even dial on my cell phone. Please help, thanks
