> possible W800i screen/display issue?

okay, ive had my w800i for about a month now and im really glad i got one. im quite happy, no make that ecstatic, about it.
a couple of days ago, i noticed that the screen size seems to have gottne smaller. its not dead pixels or anything of the sort, cause the screen still displays all info as before, but the screen seems to have lost a few pixels all around, like having a black border around it. i thought it was just me, but my friend has noticed it too. im sure the screen was occupying a much bigger space before than now. also, ive noticed that when ive turned on the camera, the viewfinder seemed to have narrowd don too. doesnt the lcd viewfinder display below the "settings" word at the bottom? mine stops at the word "setting"'s. uh, i dont know if im clear enough... will try to post pics soon.
has anyone else encountered something like this? i would wish to have your opinion before i take it back to the store...
oh and one other thing, when i lock the keypads, the screen has a distorted part when it displays the asterisk.
any input is much appreciated. thank you!

... kinda weird but i just noticed it also.. thought it was just my eyes.. ect.. like i noticed it after i gone done messing w/ custom themese.. i made my own theme and used it then was like.. the screen is much smaller.. hm.. maybe its k750 theme makes it small and cant set back? idk..

At least on my k750 the viewfinder stops below "settings" tho there is extra display space available below it....this is coz it uses the full length of the screen(220 pixels) so cant use all the 176 pixels in width lest it shall modify the aspect ratio of pic.
Considering a full size 1632*1224 pic it should use only 165 pixels in width so you'll se empty area
Transfer a 176*220 pic to phone....if you can see it full then you havent lost any screen area and its just your imagination.

On my W880i there is a black border all around the screen about 2mm thick. This is not part of the actual screen but just a border.
There is not supposed to be anything displayed under "settings" when in camera mode.

What you are experiencing is called "mental speculation".
A couple of days ago someone on one of the Sony Ericsson forums swore that pressing his volume buttons had previously allowed him to access profiles, and that they were now only showing phone status. Of course, he was mistaken. But this is why people often "perceive" that their phone is faster or takes better pictures after a firmware update, etc. The mind and the senses are not very reliable!

yah, i guess i was just so excited with the new fone that i really didnt take te time to observe those details, but aside from the mem stick going blank one day, everything seems to be fine.

PS
mine is a chinese language enabled fone, so that means it doesnt have the multi letter name search. any software updates that will allow that?
also the distorted part of the screen whenever i press the asterisk (right atop the small image of the phone upper rleft hand corner of the bumber box) is definitely not imagined.
