It appears that the sales of Ericsson's new handsets and JV with Sony has not helped with Ericsson's financial performance. In the US today or last night, /// posted its earnings and they were not good.

Do any of you think /// future is in question? I love my t68 and their products seem to be getting better.

thanks

Like i said in an other forum, 2001 was for everybody a very bad year, and i do not think one or two models of new phones are going to change that, but if ericsson and sony keep up the good work they well get there, the have to win the thrust of the buyers, like nokia did a few years ago.
now i'm speaking of what i see in my country (Belgium)

Last night i saw on TV that ericsson's stock went 4.5% up even after anouncing the big lose. Nokia went 2.5 % down.

I don't think ericsson is in danger but they have to keep up the good work.

hmm, most people don't get it do they... they still compare Ericsson with Nokia...
Ericsson does NOT make phones anymore!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Their to largest opponents are Lucent and Nortel!!!

Ericsson stopped manufacturing phones on the 1st of October and the result of the phones that has been sold after that date is not included in the Ericsson report! (all T68's, T65's and T66's for instance...)

I personally don't think any companies in Sweden has been doing wery well for the last 12 months... but I think it's about to turn this year.

Is it true that Ericsson doesen't make the new phones like T39, T66, T68 and the others? That's sad... if I was to compare Nokia and Ericsson phones - there is not much doubt - the best phones on the market right now is the ones that are made by Ericsson.

Ericsson will be fine. They think about their products and do LOTS of market research. They know what we want and give it to us in style. Nokia (sorry, am I allowed to say that here?) Have had a few good ideas in the past but seem to be lagging, the introduction of a colour screen is a prime example.

Well, depends on how you look at it, really. Ericsson owns half of Sony Ericsson, and takes half of the hit for the Sony Ericsson loss for the 4th quarter (some $70 million).
