Ive just got a K608i to replace my old phone and was just wondering whether it can be unlocked and flashed using davinci? and using the DSS-25 docking station which comes supplied with the SE P910i.

Would people go for a S700i or K608i?

Thanks very much in advance.

James

Yes it can be flashed with davinci, not sure about unlockin soz. I dunno which id go for. The K is smaller, but the S has external memory and what seems to be a better camera. But then again the K is 3g too. Id be well and truly stuck. In the end though id proberly choose the K608!

coxy has pretty much answered the flashing question and which phone he would choose, although I have to say I would disagree and choose the S700i over the K600 anyday of the week. Thats purely my opinion based on reviews of the K600 being not all so great & my personal experience with my old S710i (the black one eheh) that I loved to bits with the external storage being huge benifits for mp3's and loads of pictures.

but have fun with your new phone, and I do hope you enjoy it!

thanks for the replies nice and quick. Well i have actually just brought the K608i and the S700i both off E-Bay so i will see which i like best when i have brought them.

When flashing to loose a certain type of branding does this unlock also?

Thanks again for the quick replies

nope flashing shall only debrand your phone with (clean) standard firmware, you need a seperate process to unlock it which can be done via davinciteam etc.

just out of interest, how much did you pay for the S700i if you don't mind saying?

No you have to unlock seperately. I have had an S700 and also my friend had (before he smashed the screen ) a V600 (the vodaphone version of the K600 and K608) and i really liked it. But i was unkeen on the non-spring loaded swivel on the S700 and the 128mb external memory card limit.

I managed to get the S700i for £70 which i dont think was to bad at all.

A few weeks ago i had a Z800 (locked to vodafone with the branding etc) and i unlocked and de-branded that. Really good phone actually but not keen on flip phones especially that size.

Great price on the S700, although prices are dropping and even more so with the W900 coming out soon.

well to be honest, when open the S7** is kind of big, but at least its closed for calls etc. whereas flips phones have to be open which I always disliked.

£70 isn't a bad price at all, nice find! at least you won't be loosing much on it if you prefer the K6 and end up selling the S7.
