...in sweden. The latest news tells us that SonyEricsson doesn't allow Flextronics to build the new phones. A Sony factory in France will be the manufactorer. Tha reason is; manufactoring in sweden is too expensive for SE.

If they haven't sorted out their issues on manufacturing by now, I'm afraid we're not going to see the P800 for at least another quarter, if at all!

They seem to have serious problems with getting their act together!

I'd rather have Sony manufacture the phones! Considering Sony's manufacturing capabilities over Flextronics. And besides, having Sony manufacture the phones keeps the whole thing internal.

Don't worry on P800 because my friend using it already he got it from Hong Kong from his friend who work in the GSM company.
They are supposed to learn on mobile ability and functions before it will be sold to the market and in my opinion i think that P800 looks really nice man!

Check out this link from a French website:

A translation from Babelfish below:

"Sony Ericsson delays P800

Sony Ericsson delayed the launching of its top-of-the-range model P800. Initialement announced for November, the mobile, equipped with a screen with 4096 colors, of a camera, an access to Internet and technologies bluetooth and MMS, will leave finally only in January 2003. The manufacturer explains that it is not satisfied with the stability of the product. He will thus be equipped with a new version of his operating system Symbian OS 7.0, which makes it possible to download applications, like plays in Java and C++ for example."

Let's hope it isn't true, or are in big, big trouble...

Your guess is as good as mine DmX..! There is no 'hard' information about the P800 release, just rumours, stories and things that people may or may not have been told by or other representatives.

If had any sense at all they would issue a press release, either confirming a delay, or a release date. Until they do that (or start selling the phone) we'll be second-guessing for who knows how long!

I find it hard to believe that they can be releasing it in two weeks if they have only just decided where to make it (the top of this thread)

But the P800 was ALWAYS set to use OS 7... from the very first press release. So what's so new about that? The fact that it stated that it will NOW be loaded with OS7 makes me doubt the authenticity of this report. Check ALL specs ever released for the P800... it has ALWAYS been OS7.
