> Is it possible to adapt a Nokia Car kit ?

Hi all, I've just bought a second hand car which has a fully fitted Nokia Car kit installed in it. I know this is probably very unlikely but does anybody know if it's possible to adapt this to use with a Sony Ericsson? I suppose what I mean is is it possible to change the cradle to a Sony Ericsson cradle to fit my W800 in?

I think there would be a major compatibility problem if the W800i voltage input and the Nokia carkit voltage output are not the same.
Best to sell the carkit on the internet and put the proceeds towards a
carkit. HCA-60 + HCE-11 to play MP3's through your car stereo, or HCB-700
for convenience and Voice Digit Dialing.
BTW, post a picture of the Mobile Holder if you are unsure which Nokia fits the kit. I'll try to identify it for you.

Is removing a car kit in one piece a very big job?

If it's a 6310 kit (carkit-91) then I'd suugest using that Bluetooth compatible universal cradle.
Removing the carkit is simple as long as you are able to remove the interior trim panels or stereo head unit as required. If you cant do this then get it done professionally.
Note: The full kit consists of :
Mobile Holder (cradle)
Antenna - cable hidden under carpet or behind A-pillar trim, plus glass mounts
Electronic control box - often mounted behind the centre console
Wiring loom - connected to either the fuse box or stereo wiring
Speaker - often mounted either under steering column or behind centre console
Micophone - attached to the hoodlining by the sunvisor

If the Nokia Kit is the Cark 91 (which it sounds like it might be) there are a couple of bluetooth adapters which plug into the control box instead of the cradle.
Only this morning I installed a bluetooth adapter into my new (secondhand) car which had a Nokia rig. This is considerably cheaper and simpler than stripping out the existing installation and starting afresh.
I don't yet have the set up right for my k700i; is there anyone out there who is successfully using the MobileFun.co.uk Universal Cark-V adapter? I have tried to set the profile to in-car but cannot yet get the system to

or reply to the handsfree automatically
Once transferred the radio mutes and the sound comes out of the radio speakers fine and the nokia microphone seems to work.
