I wanna buy a P910i and use it for my office functions. I'm a heavy user of word, excel and powerpoint and i want to bring my office docs in my device. Is the QuickOffice any good in handling this? Or should i just buy this new bluetooth/wifi Palm T/X and just pair it with my SE phone? I would appreciate your opinion on this. Hopefully it can make me decide wisely

@steele - Between the 2, I'll go for the P910i mate. But given more choices, why not try contemplating on the - Motorola A780 It has a nice package content. Good Luck!

@JN Yeah i saw that Motorola smartphone. it has a nice camera also. Does it handle Word files also?
The thing that prevents me from getting the p910i is the palm TX wifi thingy. As you know, wifi is still free is most hotspots. It will cheaper to browse the internet through wifi than gprs, i think. Another is, how it handles word document files. I have no idea which is better when it comes to that. But of course since the P910i has a camera, which is a plus for me.
The motorola looks cool though

@steele - Yup! As per the Moto's handset content, Yes it has Word/Excel not sure with Power Point (I think a CD is included to download this features ) I was contemplating on getting either the P910i or the A780 as well, but for a change, I'v decided to get the latter. I was made to when I saw the content of the package at that, specially the BT Headset which has a market value of roughly - US$ 78.00. It can be bought at Memo Express, pegged at Php 31.9K (where I got it), or from the grey market at Php 29.5K. Either way, I guess the package itself has a warranty card (inside) from Smartnet, authorized distributor of Moto fones in Manila. Good Luck ! By the way, the P910i's price at Semicon is at Php 30K and roughly around Php 21-22.5K in the grey market . . .

@JN
Thanks for the info. Do you have link where i can view it's specs? I agree including the bluetooth headset in the package is great. OS of this moto is linux if i'm not mistaken so Word and Excel handling wouldn't be problem i guess. One of my reservations on this device is it's lack of third party software available. Unlike symbian apps and palm apps availability.

But a V3 black or a k750i plus Palm T/X is verrry tempting!

it really depends on how serious you are about doing work on your device. with QuickOffice on the P-series, you can access word & excel files, but if it's a big file, it can take ages to load up. i found it was passable on my P910 for reading the files, but for editing and doing actual work, i never really liked it. plus the excel functions were very limited.

palm uses Documents To Go, which appears to be the best office suite around (even better than MS' implementation for Windows Mobile). loads up very fast, huge and much more readable screen on my T5, and you can switch to landscape view. plus, a lot of excel functions are available.

definitely a lot more apps for the palm, and many that don't have any equivalents available for symbian yet. and once i started to use it, you do see the huge difference between a smartphone and a dedicated high-end PDA. (more than double the processing power, a lot more & cheaper memory, BUT battery life usually good for 1 day only, sometimes less, depending on use)

but the choice is very personal. do you mind carrying 2 devices or do you want it all in one? one other thing, after using wifi on my T5, i decided that i don't want wifi on my phone for the simple reason that it sucks the life out of your battery EXTREMELY FAST! you don't want to be out somewhere in the middle of the day with a dead phone right?
