Would this in any way at all harm my w800i?

I have a standard cell phone pouch that has a light magnetetic button to keep the latch closed..

Anyone familiar with magnets and how strong it would have to be to harm the screen/speaker/camera lens ?

Thanks

I too have always had some worry about this but my brother regularly gues a magnet to his phones battery covers so they will stick to the dashboard and never mentioned there was a problem.

...and now i-mate provide a fairly heavily magnet on the supplied case for the k-jam

I don't think the magnet in a pouch can harm any parts of the phone. The LCD screen isn't like a CRT; the camera responds to light; for the speaker -- it has to be a very strong magnet to have an effect on the speakers.

Have been using a pouch with magnet for quite some time now- absolutely no problems. This message was posted from a Nokia

who knows, according to the new age theorists, it may shield you from the harmful electro-magnetism of the phones radio

(disclaimer: I'M JOKING. Don't try this at home. Or atleast don't blame me if you get cancer)

Just be careful not to get your credit card or ATM cards near the magnet

@blackspot - Why, will that have any effect/repercussions mate?

Just like anybody else here, that became a concern of mine too, as I always buy original casings with magnetic enclosures (Nokias), except for that of s as majority always comes in 'velcro' type.

Magnets will render your creditcards and debitcards useless as it disrupts the data enclosed on them.

As for the effect on phones, i used to be able to pick up small paperclips with my p800's speaker. Very magnetic thing that is.
