Anyone seen one of these in person:

Curious to know what the software looks like. Also not sure if it's got a memory slot, although I doubt that it's a MemStick if it does...

we have this problem here in the middle east / iraq region.
in fact its gotten so bad that phones like the new popular 6680 are selling for $400 flat and the dealer tells you that this is NOT the original finland model.
i am trying to find the service menu command so i can perhaps try to tell if i am getting the real thing or a fake...

That's quite funny in the pics of the phone, the W800 almost looks better. Except the specs will obviously be crap, but it seems to have a larger screen, by quite a considerable amount!

Again I ask. What are the copyright laws in China? Have they heard about intelectual property rights or is it just a free-for-all.
Earlier this year I saw a story on the wires with Chines car manufacturers doing a simliar thing, ripping off designs from famous car makers.

I've been to Mainland China.
I would say that it's definitely a free-for-all. They copy virtually anything. From chocolates to TV sets. From cellular phones to cars.
Right now, it is still possible to detect which is a knock-off from the real thing. Give the chinese a few more years and they will become so good at copying that we will need an expert to determine the original product from the copy.

But I thought them joining the World Trade Organisation would stop this nonsense.
Damn, seems like the Chinese have no shame.
