> Meths got himself a snake!

I've not been interwebbing too much, busy at work, and any spare time i have had has been taken up by this fella:
Frankie, My new corn snake. I've wanted a snake for about 10 years, but only seriously looked into buying one about a month ago, and took the plunge. S/he's about 3 months old, eats baby mice, and will grow to around 5 feet. Its too early to tell what sex it is, but i'm not particularly bothered anyway. I love Frankie, s/hes great, and has only bitten me the once, the friendly little critter!
So, meths is now a Herpetologist! Or, "the snake guy" - Thats what i get, anyway. Honestly, i was standing at the bus stop the other day and this kid i've never seen before comes up and says "excuse me mister, do you have a snake?" I've never seen the kid before in my life! *Sigh* Just village life, i suppose. They all love a gossip! Not a big snake area, you understand, Its all wee brown dogs around here

The oldest snake on record is 32 years, they generally live to between 20 and 25 years though

Nah JoJo, thats a load of old Hooey, they come in all colours and sizes, just like people do. Doesn't make a difference, the colours. Snakes are actually very timid creatures, and will generally shy away from you if you approach them. Its a common misconception - fuelled by Hollywood and blind ignorance - that snakes are "evil". Once a snake gets to know you, it will actually come up to you for a cup of tea and a chinwag, but it does take time and you have to be patient, before that level of trust is reached.
Looking at that pic, i'd say if the python ate that kangaroo, it would be very lucky, snakes are stretchy, but their upper limit is around one and a half times the width of their own body. That kangaroo is far, far too large for it.

When your snake have eaten a small mice for a meal, will that already suffice his week long starvation?

I feed it pre-killed mice, which i buy frozen, as in the UK its illegal to feed live animals to snakes, which is absurd in my book, its natural, after all! Having said that, i might slip it the occaisional live one every now and then....and video the slaughter! mwahahahhaha! Sorry, got carried away there

Yeah i've seen that pic, if the snake was another 3 or 4 feet longer it would probably have managed to eat the croc. Must have been some battle, i would love to have seen it! big alligator, versus snake? oooh, bet it was close!

@meths - Yeah and I will surely be AWAITING that video get uploaded here pal !
I've seen that Croc vs Snake duel in a local TV station (news). Looks like that the snake have underestimated the length of the croc as he (snake) was cut in half, during the process of digestion
or did the croc fight still while being devoured
