How are we going to transfer all our details from the p910 to the p990?
We have been informed that all the money we have spent on software will have been wasted (I was annoyed enough when software vendors wouldn't give me a new auth code when I changed from the p900 to the p910).
Has SE given any hint on how we transfer all our files?

SyncML for contacts, tasks, appointments and notes, via a remote service such as
http://www.mobical.net
Or a sync with Outlook on your PC?

BT or IR is difficult - the phone wont boot up without a sim card...
Outlook? People use that?!? It's not even installed on my PC!!

Tip: Install Outlook on your PC.
Seriously, if you're that worried about keeping your contacts etc you must have them synchronised with something - just synch the P990 with the same thing. Or borrow a sim from a friend if need be.

You can send your contacts list from the phone attached as a single .csv file to an e-mail to yourself *before* you lose your SIM then!
But you'd have to deal with your calender entries and tasks individually if you wanted to get those off the phone in the same way.

"We have been informed that all the money we have spent on software will have been wasted" If u do mean by software, the programs u've bought, all the companies will give u a new registration code once u give them ur new SN & once the program exists for the new platform.

I'm sure they will. for a price! don't forget they'll have to put some effort in to get them to run on the new OS, and that won't come for free......

None of the companies I contacted even replied to me when I asked for a new registration when I changed from the p900 to the p910
I have managed to save the contact details now - cheers
