This has probably come up loads of times already but does anyone have a wma to mp3 converter or a link to a free one coz i can't find a free one anywhere.

ahh beat me to it. I just did a quick search on download.com and come up with this:
Free Wma to Mp3 Converter Havent the foggiest what its like, just d/l it and it looks pretty straight forward, and FREE!
