> I Wanna Get A Memory Card
Bookmark topic
I'm planning to get a memory card for my P910i. I wanna know if i should go for a 1GB card or will a 512MB card be enough. Have this doubt coz i heard my friends say they have had problems using a 1GB card with the P910i... and these things are quite expensive here in India....a 1GB card is almost twice as expensive as the 512MB card... so i wanna know if it's worth it.

I'm from England, UK so can't comment about prices where you live!
But what I can say is that I am using a P910i just like yourself, have been for a few months now, and I have a Sony 1Gb high speed pro duo inside now.
Personally I feel that 512mb would be enough for application, pictures, etc. but I went for the 1Gb card as this way I can have
a lot of music/video's stored on it to keep me away from boredom inbetween meetings!
Also the 2Gb card is out now, with the 4Gb arriving early next year I am aware. So this could mean that the 1Gb card's will drop in price in a month or so!
Completely your choice, but ask yourself what you need & also what you want this memory for?! If its for music/video's etc then the larger 1Gb card would be required for any decent amount of files, otherwise if its documents/applications then the 512mb would be perfect for now.
Hope this helps in some way to aid you toward's your final decision!

affordablity certainly does come into it but in storage, be it pc hard drive, office cupboards or memory cards, the general rule is that you can never have enough
I've been using a 2gb SD card in my Jam and was almost ready to buy a 4gb card when I found out that the new k-jam I would be getting uses mini-SD and the max available for that is 1gb. So I have had to take a step backwards and deciding the 50% I would have to remove was a tough job!
Looking forward now to the 2gb mini-SD becoming available
in summary, go for the biggest you can afford

I think so too . . . go for the biggest capacity you can afford. Maybe you won't need it but at least the space is there in case you do need it. The down side of this is of course the price now. By early next year you can bet that the 1gb/2gb prices will drop once the 4gb comes out. I myself have only a 256mb duo which so far is big enough for my needs. Don't have videos nor songs on my phone.

thanks guys... I've been reading the posts for about a year now and that was my first post on Esato! People here don't know much about this site and Sony Ericsson... most people here go for Nokia handsets... and those memory cards are cheap... anyway, i think i'll settle for a 512MB card... can get one with more capacity maybe later... thanks a lot...

I agree with masseur, bigger is better. If you like some extra security, buy a Sony branded msd, I know they cost a little more, but are more reliable in my opinion.
