hello all,
Thanks to those who have assisted in my learning curve thusfar.
Now....somewhere along the line i have possibly "fixed what aint broke" (possibly whilst trying to correct a modem disconnection issue with my new PC)
i shall not go into the detail of what i have done but reather supply the answers as you as the questions.
The issue:when the phone is in the SyncStation all is well untill i remove it.Then within seconds i receive the message:scrfs.exe module has encountered a problem and needs to close.I also once received the same message concerning CapMan.exe
Then the phone is lost.A reboot is required to get SyncStation to function again (that is untill the phone is removed and it starts again)
I have tried switching off system restore,re-installing,un-installed and re-installed my Kerio firewall in various different permutations....zilch.
I am lost here.HELP please??

TIA (don't)wannabegeek(nomore)...lol

BTW. every other aspect of my "baby" is in purrrfect working order (except maybe its owner)...lol

This is not a fix but a workaround - immediately after a successful synchronization session, i.e. when the Synchronization Completed dialog appears, go to the Task Manager (usually Control/Alt/Delete), highlight the SCRFS.EXE process and click the End Process button.

You will find that provided you end the SCRFS process manually in this way, you can synchronize again and again without having to restart your machine.
Hope this works for you,

Best wishes & seasonal greetings

Thanks markomc, since going BT/dongle i am not experiencing the problem.
At least now you have given me an alternative should I wish to use the cradle/USB.
Regards,geek.
