I've been trying to make my T65 send e-mails and I continue to get "Send failed" message.
I know that some SMTP server require POP authentification first and some other type of authentification. I'd like to know what kind of authentification the T65 software support.
I've managed to send a few control e-mails a few times doing some tricks, trying to maintain the connection AFTER reading the e-mails. It doesn't work always. It could be useful if the software could show something more that "Send failed" to see what the problem is.
The "Send & Receive" function disconnects imediately after the send/receive is complete that's why I need to go to the Inbox, press one of the arrows in the list (up/down), connect to the net, assume it has at least tried to get the e-mail so I've got an auth for the SMTP, and then go to Outbox and send the e-mails. It doesn't work always. Maybe it depends on the auth method used on the server. That's why I'd like to know the E-mail client specifications of T65 software.
One more thing, in the dark, when there's no light, how am I supposed to read my e-mail since the light turns off? It's true it helps reception, I agree with it turning off when making voice calls, but on data connection.. when reading e-mail.. it is sometimes impossible to read it or even to see if it has connected or not to the net. That's one moment I'd like it to be on.
Summary:
1. SMTP/POP3 specifications
2. maybe the send & receive function should be more like.. receive and send to help connection with some auth requiering SMTP servers
3. light on Data Connections (mobile only - not external like with computers)
4. maybe a disconnect menu item somewhere... it happened to me to see the connection icon next to the menu title even if the connection was closed (need restart the mobile then)
This is it... ah.. forgot to mention: I'm not using GPRS, nor HCSCD, I'm using a time billed data connection.
Thank you for any helping information.
