As topic... do you know any SMTP that allows me to send mail with my phone (without the need of being connected to their network). Preferably, withouth ads at the bottom...

I tried a couple but they didn't work; the only thing that worked a couple of times was my computer redirecting mail from my Outlook... quite a mess; but I don't want to leave a service running 24/7 just to send a mail once a month!

THanks in advance.

EDIT: It'd be great if I could specify a "Reply-To" address, so the responses will arrive at my POP3 account...

Why don't you use the same account that you set in Outlook?
Check the "account settings", there should be an SMTP server specified.

because the SMTP you use in outlook is normally the one provided by your ISP and most ISP's only allow the use of their SMTP server if you are actually connected to their service

when sending email from a phone you are not logged into their service and so the send fails, usually with some sort of "relay not allowed" message

this is why mobile phone companies provide their own SMTP server

Exactly as masseur said; but in this case, my company (Movistar) doesn't provide a SMTP at all...

What can I do?

googling I find a couple of mentions of movistar.es for the SMTP server

on Esato I find this post suggesting smtp.movistar.com

out of interest, did you try either of these?

Mmm... no actually. I just called them and they told me that they didn't have an SMTP at the moment. Since I'm in argentina, not in spain, I don't know if it will work... will try thoug! Thanks masseur
