That is a known issue. Tell us what OS you are running. There is the firewall, the virus checker that can interfere. The BT setup in XP SP2 that can make a problem, etc.

Hmmm...ok.
Now since you have Sp2 installed the drivers that came with the cd might be clashing with the inbuilt drivers that sp2 has.
Uninstall the driver that came with your cd, remove the dongle, restart the pc and insert the dongle again and try using the inbuilt drivers on xp sp2.
Let us know what happens...

you HAVE to get mrouter working properly. just having that will allow you to do everyting you want. I'm guessing that you're getting file transfers to work through whatever software was supplied with the dongle? honestly, that's just lucky.
Install the latest version on mrouter you can get your hands on. once that's done, reboot. you should now have a connection icon down on your taskbar. Right click it, and you have an option to connect to a BT device. use it! DO NOT TRY TO INITIATE PAIRING FROM THE PHONE. for some reason, that did not work for me.
Once you have mrouter going, you'll need something to actually do the things you want. the softare on the CD for the dongle just isn't gonna cut it i'm afraid. There's a few threads about using mrouter to connect to the internet. have a search (I don't use that function, so can't really help there). for file transfer, floats manager seems to get good reviews, as does desktop manager. I use motorola's pc suite, which has mrouter bundled with it. unfortunately SE's PC suite doesn't seem to be very stable, especially with BT.

i got m router, and its working, via cable, but not BT, it just doesnt see the device, ive tried different drivers and that aint working either.
it doesnt even let me start the wizard, just gives me wat i need, and an option to FINISH, at the bottom, no next.

First, make sure your phone is able to recieve BT pairings.
so you get the "connect to BT" button right? after that, a bluetooth icon will pop-up in your taskbar, click on it, and it will search for BT devices (it may take a minute first time). If it can't find it, it has nothing to do with mrouter, but with your dongle driver (more than likely), or possible a conflicting port that the dongle is trying to use. if it does, then weh-hay away you go. after pairing, make sure you click on the "always allow connection" box under your PC name on your phone.
So what exactly does it say to fail pairing?

I've got the same problem. Sometimes I can send files from phone to PC, sometimes I can't. I can always send files from PC to phone tho. I use XP SP2 drivers. It didn't work with SP1 either. My BT modem always worked tho.
