I was quite amazed to read that according to a article in the register an estimated 600,000 mobiles are flushed down the toilet in the u.k every year...I know plenty of people who have accidently dropped their phones on the loo but how many of us have actually flushed them down on purpose or accidently?

Yes, i have done this. My toilet has swallowed a k700, which although its a very small phone, it should be noted that it was attached to my laptop providing me internet access which i needed while brushing my teeth. Balanced precariously on the rim of the porcelain poo percolator, i leaned across to grab my tube of Colgate Total, and knocked laptop, phone, and one of those dolls with bog roll under the skirt into the yawning chasm. Trying to prevent myself falling in after, i inadvertantly reached out and grabbed the handle, in a thunderous clap of a flush ensued. Well, you can imagine how distraught i was, especially as i now had no on-screen instructions courtesy of askjeeves to aid my tooth brushing experience.

ROTFLMAO

I've never dropped a mobile down the loo but I've lost loads of lighters. I used to work in a big factory and you had to go to the bogs for a sneaky cigarette

Both my T68 and P800 have suffered the perils of being flushed! At least the T68 survived!

@meths i love ur terminology!!

I must admit that ive dropped one phone down the bog before - namely a 7110 - but i was so devastated at the time i naturally put the arm in there and fished it out. Luckily i didnt have a brown arm afterwards. Those figures are quite astonishing though...goes to show that the Brits are obviously heavy drinkers!!

i dropped my t610 down the toilet once too... (it was flushed might i add, so it was clean water). i was getting in the shower... just went pee... set my towel down by the sink.... put my phone on my towel... got out of the shower... it was steamy so couldnt see and i wasnt thinking... grapped my towel... and "kerplunk" ahhh crap! saw what happened... took it out opened it, dried it, worked fine that phone got dropped in a bowl (completley submerged) in a bowl of salsa, went into a pool, through the rain, and much more... and still being used by my friend to this day
my precious s710 never suffered anything like this... im alot more careful with it
