A laptop that will cost roughly $100 or roughly £60 should be available by late 2006 and is mainly aimed at developing countries.The exact specs are yet to be decided but its said it will be hand crank powered and have a 500MHz processor, 1GB of memory and a unique dual-mode display that can be used in full-color mode, or in a black-and-white sunlight-readable mode.

This whole venture is being organised by the U.N in order to help third world countries so no one is going to make any profits from this.The U.N is pushing to keep developement costs to a bear minimum,google and yahoo are already funding this project so its more than likely that $100 price will be achieved,I certainly hope so anyway.so many under privilaged people could benefit from this.
