Hi!
I have a P900 and it's been working great until today! Yesterday the phone ran off battery and today, after the recharge, when I start the phone, the Sony Ericsson screen, the white with the logo stays there all the time, and the phone never starts up completely...

Give me some advice on what to do... is there something I can try myself? Like a reboot that make the phone like it was from the start? I don't want to loose everything in it, my messages and my adressbook and the programs that I have installed...I hope somebody out there has an answer to this or can give me some advice on what to do!!!

Thanks in advance!

Hi there and welcome to esato. Unfortunately I have no idea what can be wrong, maby you installed some new applications before the phone turned off?

If you havent installed any apps or anything then I se 2 solutions.

1. You can allways format your interal memory from a secret menu from the PIN screen. That probably would solve your problem, whatever it is. But if you format your interal memory everything will be lost, messages, contacts, etc. But if you have a backup then you can allways reestore afterwards.

2. You could go to next service center and check if they can see what th problem is.

Phone can hang on startup if the phone has insuficient internal memory to boot. (what was the internal free memory the last time you checked?)
If that's the case, the phone must be internally formatted.
But since the internal format is only available on service menu, you need to boot the phone...
I guess your only option is to take it to an SE service center and get it re-flashed.

Hello,

thank you for the answers.

I can't format the memory and restore a backup because i can't reach the "insert PIN" menu. The phone freezes during the Sony Ericsson Startup Screen.

I think the problem is that the memory is full. i can't connect the phone to the computer to free some memory and I can't turn it on... Take the phone to the support service is the only way?

If I free some memory on the memoryStick Duo?

thank You very much and excuse me for my bad english

It wont work.
Boot uses C: drive which is internal memory.

The only way is to get it to a service center and wipe it out (you will lose everything that is stored on the phone, not MS).

You could try hooking it up to the SE update service. there is a restore feature there. You will however lose all of your stored items (mind you, that'll most likely happen if you take it to a service centre too), so I hope you have a backup.
