> Airtel Gprs settings for the 6600

I tried configuring the 6600 myself but it seems very confusing. I am using the same sim which i had in my older phone. gprs is pre activated. But just cant seem to be able to configure the phone. Please help.

I had the same issue when I got a K750i..
The simplest thing to do would be to call Airtel customer care and ask them to send over the settings again. They're pretty fast in doing this (in my experience)..
EDIT: Or ask them to tell you the settings over phone. Tell them your phone model and they'll be able to tell you perfectly what you want (including what to do on each screen/field).

Did that. They sent the same settings which works on other java phones. But the input parameters are different for the 2 phones.

Did you figure out a solution? I was referring to the Airtel WAP settings which was working fine on my mobile. Now I've switched over to GPRS and I seem to have the same problem as you. When I try to install the OTA settings which Airtel sends me, it just says "Settings not valid".

Goto Settings>Connection>GPRS and enter the accesspoint as airtelwap.com or airtelgprs.com. Save it and goto Settings>Connection>Access points. Create a new profile specifying the access point as above, data bearer as gprs, and leave the rest of the things blank. Press options and select advanced settings. Enter the proxy address as 100.1.200.99 and the proxy port as 8080. Goto browser>settings and select the profile you just created
