> camera won't take pictures

recently my k750i just stopped taking pictures. i open the slider, it goes to the camera screen - you can see everything fine. you press the button down, the autofocus makes the beeping noise - you press a little harder, and the screen blinks, and then just goes back to the main camera screen. no picture is taken - nothing. SE told me to master reset, try recovery mode, etc. but since i am in the US, and the phone isn't released here - for them to fix it, it would take 2 months. anyone have any ideas? let me know. thanks a lot.
