I'm looking at getting a simple 3.5mm adapter for my k750 so I can use nice headphones and a car cassette adapter. (http://mobile.brando.com.hk/EarPhoneAdapterTo35.php)

Simple question: this adapter has no mic, so what happens when the phone rings!? Do i have to unplug the adapter from the pop port, or can I just use the handset?

Or should I just get the adapter with the mic (which I think will make the cables waaaay too long)?

why not just buy the Sony Ericsson HPM-70 stereo headset, which will also act as an adapter with mic for other headphones.

Yeah I thought about that, but I already have a pair of nice earphones (sony MDREX71s), and I didn't want to spend the money again.

Anyone have any idea how the adapter without mic works?

when you recieve a call the music cuts and you can use the phone as normal with no need to unplug the adapter

The hpm-70 mike has a 3.5mm socket built into it. You can replace the Sony Ericsson headset with your own, but still have true handsfree.

Hmm... I think that refers only to when you're using the HPM-70. If you're using any other adaptor without a mic i think you'll only be able to hear the caller, but not be able to speak to him. Unless your adaptor only has the audio connection, then the mic on your phone is not affected/disconnected. So you'll be able to hear the caller through your speakers, and speak through your phone's mic.

I also would like to know how this works as I am planning to buy one of those cheap adaptors. HPM-70 is not yet available locally therefore with shipping and everything the price is too much for me (and I too have two high quality earphones with me already).

So if somehow the adaptor has pins for a mic without a mic built in to it (those audio only small cheap adaptors), then can I simply remove those pins from the adaptor and have the mic on the phone enabled while the adaptor is plugged in ? Also will the FM radio works with this ?

Some one here must be using one of those audio only adaptors, so guys can you shed some light on this ?
