> Buisness Idea
Bookmark topic
It is just a quick thoght i have had and havent had time to consider the details. But on principle would people be interested in a buisness that allowed you to 'rent' mobile phones?! I mean i often want to try out the latest and greatest mobile phones and get annoyed that i only get my one upgrade a year. And for people on PAYG this must be even worse as you have to make BIG investments for decent phones. well what if i opened a site that allowed you to rent sim free mobiles on a weekly or monthly basis? then you could try out all the latest phones and in theory have new ones each month! for example by my rough calculation it would still be profitable to rent out a w800i for about £7ish a week. would people be interested in this?
any comments welcome!

well you could either take deposits, or you could insist payment is via a current depit or credit card and phones are only sent out to the card holders address. ie. someone would then have to go the trouble of moving or otherwise they would be easily caught plenty of ways. like i said i aint thought out the details yet, lol! in terms of the damage again you make it clear that people are liable for the damage, so charge fines for any damage and also you could send out the phone in protective cases and with screen protectors on to limit the damage etc.
keep your comments coming!

Deposits are a good idea, but i mean if people put a deposit for the full price of the phone, i'm sure they'd just go out and buy the phone with that kind of money.
Say a £50 deposit, and take their credit card details too, as form of payment and incase they do a runner, you have some info on them.

in Japan and Middle east they do it. They take a deposit (not too high) and their card details which they then use IF the person did not return it and so on.
You can't do too high of a deposit, because that person might as well just get a phone if the money is frozen anyway.

Imagine someone renting a W800i for two months.
After two months it is likely to get a few scratches, because NO ONE can keep the phone intact.
You'd either activate the deposit (i don't think the guy would be happy), or rent it to another one, and, well, i wouldn't rent something that already has scratches...
Just my USD$0.02...
