hello
i've had a p800 since it was relesed and just upgraded to the 910i. I have the 800 running sweet as a nut, And had no intrest in programs for a year or so.... But a new phone means i have a new toy and it's playtime...
firstly i have an orange (uk) handset. It's going to be De-branded as soon as i can get the SE website to work. It's having a couple of issues or a problem with either my router or zonealarm.... so i need to adress that issue. Advice is well recived.
sman has already been installed.
I found a couple of GPS navigation utills... Do they work o.k? will they work from the phone in real time, and most importantly can i now use my phone as a speedo? would be nice for on the motorway. What utils work the best. And what sort of GPS usage do they use.
Also whats the most common problem with a 910i? i know it sounds like a silly question... but this phone might break as soon as orange run out of there 910i supply.... And i guess the only option would be for them to give me the next best alternative

On the GPS map software i would go for Tom Tom Mobile 5 as i run this on my P905 with no problems.
I have tried Route 66 but found there were certain quirks regarding its spoken instructions that made it slightly unreliable, plus with Tom Tom there are plenty of maps for other countries etc around.
As to what might break on a p910, i would make sure you never put anything in the same pocket as the phone ie keys as these are a sure way to bust or scratch your screen!!

Enjoy
And a P910 is a fairly robust phone, it shouldn't be breaking on you any time soon unless you manage to drop it down a toilet or something

finally managed to get seus to work. Must have been a problem at there end as it wasn't anything i tweaked.
i have the latest orange firmware, buggy as hell started the phone ans the p.c connection wouldn't restore settings! I had to install sman then flush out the memory before it would restore!
thanks for the apps page, does the tv remote work o.k? I might give that one a go.
This weekend i think i'm going to debrand. The readme looks pretty impressive, I'll post a respone in the debranding thread when it's done and tell you how good the instructions were!
many thanks so far you people.

i had an experience of dropping my p800 also in a about a cup of coke when my 3 yr old nephew poured coke in the cupholder of my car where i usually put my phone everytime i'm driving. and this is a handy tip im about to share..hehehe.. after i learned that my phone shut off and damn dripping wet of that coke in my cupholder, i immediately removed the battery and soaked it in a pitcher of mineral water..well i mean at most, up to the level of where the coke reached the insides of my phone.. blow dried it every two hours..and used it the next day. It still served me a good 3 years of usage until i decided to sell it and upgraded for a p910i..
