Hi all,

I was wondering does anyone know of a freeware intranet provider? My works office would like to set up a intranet to set up a online diary to for its staff. does anyone know of any freeware ones? Were searching for a freeware one to see how well it could work.

Any advise off you knowledgeable people would be great! cheers all

So you're looking to create an internal blog like site?

TBH this wouldn't be too hard, all you need is a web server, with PHP, and use any of the major PHP frontends out there.

If your IT people are linux savvy, get them to use Apache (I believe its free) to setup the webserver.

If they don't want to goto the trouble of doing that, heck they could setup forum software like PHPbb or ikonboard or whatever they find easy and just have users post their daily blogs in threads..

Depends how much trouble your company wants to goto

Yep, Apache web server with PHP and MySQL is the way to go, it's free and the windows version comes with an installer that gets it up and running straight away, no tweaking required at all.
