PLEASE HELP!
I am in the Czech Republic. I do not have a landline. I need to use my cell phone as a modem to get online... But I have an iBook and there are no USB cables for Mac/cell phone connection. Will Bluetooth solve my problem? I know I need OS-X, plus Bluetooth USB adapter, plus a Bluetooth enabled phone... but does it actually work? How is the connection speed? Which phone is the best choice? I don't need all the bells and whistles of the Ericsson T68 phone that i have read about, since i won't be using the phone itself as an internet interface... i just need to use it as a modem. Is Bluetooth my only option to get online wirelessly with a Mac? Thanks so much for any and all help! Consider me technologically ignorant when you reply

Bluetooth is only one of your options. The rest are IrDA, or cable.

But how?
I don't know anyone who speaks english here who has computer knowledge. How do i get online with my iBook and no landline? Cables? Is there a cable available to connect my Motorola Timeport 260 to my iBook via USB? i can't find one online. i'll buy a new phone if i have to. Has anyone done this who can shed some light? thanks

oh, so were not talking about
phones here?
anyway, as long as your phone has a data function (data modem or GPRS) then you can connect online. the 260 does not support bluetooth but has IrDA and possible data cable accessory.

1st, make sure you mobile account has gprs! Next, get settings from your mobile service provider for internet not wap. Macworld forums may help with a solution for os x.
