> what is Live Cast?

Whilst trying to workout why Flash Lite was removed from the latest w800 firmware someone managed to get this response from SE:
The answer from our back office to your original question is: According to spec. .swf support was removed from MR2. Since there is no LiveCast.
LiveCast is used by the flash, which the W800 doesn4t support and that4s the reason why flash support has been removed.
Does anyone know what Live Cast is? ...and why it might have been removed?
cheers

This is the only support document I can find mentioning LiveCast at Macromedia's site:
http://www.macromedia.com/dev[....]/broadcast_receiver_print.html
It appears to be something to do with streaming audio/video...

Hi,
Thanks for the response - I think are lots of things called live cast. I am pretty sure live cast isnt a Macromedia thing - the article you pointed out was just using 'livecast' as a name for thedemo application.
cheers
