> virus scan/antivirus software?

I have long used Patrick Kolla's Spybot(freeware) on my PC's (in conjunction with Adaware) Whilst not infallible(why one runs Adaware as well) it has proved useful.
I got(stupidly)nailed by a virus(via bluetooth)on my Nokia 7610.Given the fact that i now download mails and surf (without an Antivirus)on my VERY special P910i i decided to give Spybot a whirl. It isn't a true(realtime scanning,daily updates,etc) virus scan but it works and "half an egg is better than an empty shell"
Thought some of the members might like to try it out.

{Spybot-S&D for Symbian UIQ cellphones is one of our newer projects. Started some time ago when the first virus for Symbian cellhpones appeared (A29.Cabir, also called SymbOS.Caribe), we've now decided to release this preview as a goodie to our users.}
Any ideas on Antivirus software and UIQ phones in general would be welcomed.
Regards,
(sometimes)wannabegeek
P.S. If you try his Spybot for Windows i would suggest disabling the "Tea Timer" app included...it is "vicious" (he does warn one) and used incorrectly could crash even the "oldhand"...lol

Personally I still fail to see why malware on a smartphone poses any significant threat at all. Until such time as the OS becomes more sophisticated and can be changed by apps actually installed on the phone rather than by flashing techniques, malware can surely be little more than a minor annoyance that is very easily remedied.
Still, I'm sure it won't be long before smartphones come equipped with the OS installed on a hard drive or dynamic solid state memory, leaving the gate open for much more nasty little programs

"SymbOS.Caribe is a proof-of-concept worm that replicates on Series 60 phones."
Still no virus reported for UIQ.
No disrespect, but who in their right mind would take this advice from a seller of an anti-virus app?
The second I see a valid report of a malware/virus on a p9xx I will rush to buy some protection. Until then I'll stick to paying for app's I actually need, and only from reputable software stores.
