How about this. While the next generation high, density DVD war format continues, Blue-Ray (Sony) versus HD-DVD, Hitachi decided to develop another format - altogether different. If all goes well, next year this time you could have a 300 Gigabyte holographic drive installed into your pc. A few years later the capacity will be increased to 1.5TeraByte with speeds 50x faster then today's DVD's ! Huh, where is it going to end ? Greetings from South Africa. In fact the sizes these things can reach will hit there maximum size by around 2020 apparently!

I only can wonder at the total capacity they will have by 2020. Also what's going to become now of blue-ray and HD-DVD ? They fought each other out for too long.HD television will only 'take off' in 2 years and by then no matter who the 'big' companies are supporting because the public will vote with their wallets.
