> P910i Call Divert - Help needed
Bookmark topic
Hi,
Does anyone know of a shorter way to get to the menu to divert calls on a P910i?
Have to goto Phone, Edit, Preferences and then divert calls
Is there an easier way to do this?
Also when I go into the menu to find a number to divert the call to a lot of my phone numbers are not in the list for some strange reason>
Thanks

The quickest way I've found to set up diverts is not to bother with the Divert calls menu at all!
I've got the following commands stored as speed dials. These set up (and cancel) the diverts directly:
Divert Line 1: **21*[number to divert to]*11#
Divert Line 2 (if necessary): **21*[number to divert to]*89#
(So, for example, to divert Line 1 to UK number 01234 567890, you would use either **21*01234567890*11# if you're in the UK or, generally, **21*+441234567890*11#.)
Cancel Line 1 divert: ##21*11#
Cancel Line 2 divert (if necessary): ##21*89#
(NB: 'Cancel' means to reset the diverts to your network's defaults, not necessarily to cancel diverts entirely.)

No, they're generic GSM commands so should work on any network -- provided the network supports call diversion. (The Line 2 commands will be no use to you regardless though!)
They work fine for me on Orange UK (contract), but don't, unfortunately, when using an O2-UK PAYG SIM (just tried). I couldn't even use the Divert calls menu either with the O2 SIM installed, so it seems that call diversion just isn't supported on O2-UK PAYG. Hopefully it's a different story if you've got an O2 contract phone.

Out of interest, can you definitely set up call diverts using the Divert calls menu? I may well be jumping to O2 contract myself at some point in the future, so it would be nice to know if this feature is supported!

Yep I have got two phones on 02 a Nokia 8800 and a P910 and both are able to divert without problem. I divert them to my SmartNav navigation system as you can receive incoming calls on the touch screen display and it works fine. The advantage is that I do not need a seperate phone kit or handsfree kit but I do have to divert my calls to my smartnav mobile number. That is why I was looking for a shortcut to divert calls as I have to do it a couple of times a day

I've just tried the Line 1 divert command on my wife's O2 contract Nokia 6600, and it worked fine.
I found I had to use the generic cancel command ##21# afterwards though, rather than the Line 1-specific command I've given above.
HTH.

On a general note, for those who are interested, there's a useful summary of GSM commands here:
