Am about to buy a bluetooth dongle and wanted to ask you that does it come with the software cd? I read somewhere on esato that it does not work on Windows if XP Service Pack 2 is not installed.
Is it true? Please help? I have a k700i.

All bluetooth dongles come with a driver cd.
And the biggest proof that a bt dongle can work without SP2 is me, myself..
I am on a pc without sp2 and the dongle works ok..

But, if u have sp2 installed, plug in the bt dongle directly without installing the drivers and see whether the built in bt drivers in xp recognises it..
If not, then try with the drivers installed..

Mine is a Microsim one.. i had another two earlier which refsed to work with nokias so borrowed this one from mrao...

Go for good brands like billionton or microsim..
Don't really know much about the transfer speeds...

I have an MSI one for some time now.
Works a treat (besides some initial COM0: problems... ... but it was my fault )
