Hey, hope someone out there can help me, bet they can (ass kissing never hurt!!!) I have a IR port on my Packard Bell Laptop (running XP) and a t68i. I have the software off of the disk installed, but cant get the pc to detect the phone, and hence I cant send anything to the phone.Am I doing something really obvious wrong or is it the pc? Have made sure the phone is in range etc and on recieve, but not sure what to do.HELP!!!!!!!!

Well have looked in the CMOS when the laptop turns on and it says IR in it, so guess is on. The laptop detects the phone occasionally, but only for bout 5 secs.Have got the phone close to the port so not sure why it doesnt stay connected.Any ideas?

I have T39 and XP... T39 IR and T68 are the same so... All I had to do to get it to work was place it infront of the IR port... (ofcourse turn on the IR communication on the phone). XP detected new "computer" ready for sending/receiving files.... in a 20second time it detected the IR modem so no software was needed... for it to detect the phone... AFter that i installed the Phone Monitor stuff...

Probably not at ALL your problem, but still... You could always have a dodgy IR port... My original T68i was acting up not talking to my Pocket PC over IR. Then I discovered that if I held them literally touching, they would work (albeit VERY unreliable). I pretty much isolated the problem to a faulty transmitting diode in the IR on the phone. So I took it back to the shop, and after a little bit of a fart on with Orange, got it replaced. The new one I have works a treat - EVERY time.
